What Makes a Team Shirt Last Past October

A team tee lives a hard life. Practice, the car, the wash with everything else, back on the next morning. What separates a shirt that survives that from one cracking by the third game is not the color of the ink, it is how the print is anchored and how the fabric behaves after heat. DTF printing lays a flexible layer of ink into the garment, so a sponsor block on a sleeve bends with the arm instead of splitting down the middle. That is the difference between custom t-shirt printing Woodruff SC families reorder from and the batch that ends up as rags.

Three methods, and the right one depends on the piece. DTF, direct to film, is our specialty and it handles the messy stuff well, full color crests, gradients, a roster of names on the back, small sponsor marks on a sleeve. It starts at 12 pieces and does not care how many colors you throw at it. Embroidery Woodruff SC coaches and board members ask for goes on hats, polos, quarter zips and jackets, stitched so it holds up to weather and repeat washing. Screen printing comes in on qualifying bulk runs, usually from 48 pieces, when the design is simple and the count is high enough to earn it.

Booster clubs are our favorite kind of hard order. Nobody is buying one shirt. They are buying a spirit tee for the stands, a heavier hoodie for the cold half of the schedule, staff polos, and hats to hand sponsors as a thank you. Add restaurants, trades crews, churches and nonprofits and the pattern is the same, one artwork used across a range of blanks, with sizes running from a small child to a 3XL dad. That is why custom hoodies, company shirts and embroidered caps usually leave here on the same pallet and split back out by family.

The part clubs dread is the sorting. You collect sizes on a sign up sheet, we print it as one consolidated order so everyone gets the volume price, then it comes back bagged and labeled by name or by group instead of one heap someone has to sit and sort in a parking lot. Sponsor placement gets locked in the proof, so nobody argues about sleeve versus back after it is printed.

The Stuff Board Members Actually Ask

Most clubs have been burned once, so here are the honest answers to the four questions that come up every time.

Our sizes are all over the place

That is normal and it does not cost extra to solve. Youth small through adult 3XL in the same order, printed with the same artwork at the same scale where it makes sense and scaled down on youth pieces so the design does not swallow the shirt.

Twelve is more than we need right now

Twelve pieces is the floor for DTF and embroidery, and it is a low floor on purpose. Mix garments to get there. Six tees, four hoodies and two hats still counts as twelve, so a small club is not locked out of ordering.

Six sponsors on one shirt

Send them all and we will lay it out. Sponsor blocks usually work best on a sleeve or across the upper back, sized so the small ones are still readable. You approve the proof before anything prints, so placement is settled in writing.

You are not in Woodruff

Correct. We work out of the Greenville Upstate and serve Woodruff and the rest of Spartanburg County from there. Orders ship or get delivered, proofs and approvals happen by phone and email, and nobody has to drive anywhere to place an order.

What Teams and Clubs Order Most

Six things cover almost every roster order we run. Mix them in one job so the whole club prices as a single count, not six small ones.

Spirit Tees and Roster Shirts

Soft cotton or blend tees printed front, back and sleeve. Numbers, last names, sponsor blocks and full color crests all in one pass. Twelve pieces starts the order and color count does not change the price.

From 12 pieces Sleeve sponsors Youth to 3XL

Hoodies and Warmups

Pullovers, zip fronts and crews for the cold half of the season. Heavier fleece takes a print well and holds it. Good for players, siblings and the parents standing on a metal bench in November.

Pullover or zip Heavy fleece Names on back

Embroidered Hats

Structured caps, dad hats and beanies with a stitched logo. These are what clubs hand to sponsors and coaches. Stitch holds through weather and washing better than any print will on a curved brim.

Stitched logo Sponsor gifts 12 piece minimum

Coach and Staff Polos

Embroidered polos, quarter zips and jackets for anyone on the sideline or working the gate. Left chest logo, optional name or title on the other side so the crew reads as staff, not spectators.

Left chest logo Names optional Jackets too

Bulk Screen Printed Runs

When the count is high and the art is a couple of solid colors, screen printing on qualifying orders from around 48 pieces brings the per shirt number down. Ideal for a season wide handout or a whole league.

From 48 pieces Simple art wins Best bulk price

Fundraiser and Tournament Apparel

Shirts and hoodies built to sell, with sponsor names on the back and a price point that leaves the club real margin. Also works for camps, invitationals and anything with a date printed on it.

How a Club Order Runs

1

Send the count

Call or email with your logo, sponsor files and a rough size breakdown. Rough is fine at this stage, we can tighten the numbers later.

2

Get the quote

You get pricing per garment across the whole order, so the club can set a sale price or a parent buy in before committing to anything.

3

Approve the proof

We send a layout showing print size and sponsor placement on each piece. Nothing goes to production until someone from the club signs off.

4

Split and deliver

Typical turnaround is five to seven days after proof approval. Orders come back bagged and labeled by name or group, ready to hand out.

Questions From Woodruff Teams and Clubs

Yes, sleeve sponsor blocks are one of the most common things we run for booster clubs. Send whatever files the sponsors gave you, even if they are a mess of formats. We will scale each one so the smallest logo is still legible, then show you exact placement on the proof before we print a single shirt.

Yes, and it should. Running youth and adult together in one job keeps the whole club at the same volume price instead of splitting into two small orders. We adjust the artwork scale on youth pieces so a design sized for an adult back does not run off the edge of a child sized shirt.

Tell us how you collected it. If you have names attached to sizes, we can bag and label by name. If you collected by team, grade or group, we sort it that way instead. Either beats handing a club president one large box and a spreadsheet on delivery day.

Twelve pieces for embroidery, same as DTF. Hats, polos, quarter zips and jackets all count toward that twelve, so a club ordering eight coach polos and four caps has already met it. Screen printing sits higher, usually from 48 pieces, since it earns its price on volume.

Typical turnaround is five to seven days after you approve the proof, and the clock starts at approval, not at the first email. Build in time for artwork and sponsor files. If you have a hard date, say so up front and we will tell you honestly whether it fits.

Get Your Club a Number

Send your logo, sponsor files and a rough size count, and we will come back with pricing for the whole order.
