Custom T-Shirt Printing and Embroidery for Clemson Organizations

Most student group orders arrive with a date already locked in. Rush week, a philanthropy weekend, a spring formal, an intramural season that starts Thursday whether the shirts show up or not. That deadline is the whole job. It decides when artwork has to be final, when the roster of sizes has to close, and how much room is left for a second proof. So the first thing we ask about custom t-shirt printing in Clemson is not the color or the fabric, it is the date you need them in hand. Work backwards from there and a 5 to 7 day turnaround after proof approval fits comfortably. Guess at it and it does not.

DTF printing is the specialty and it is built for the way chapters and clubs order. Direct to film puts full color artwork on cotton, blends and tri blends without a setup charge per color, so a twelve piece run of custom hoodies costs what it costs whether the design is one ink or seven. Embroidery covers hats, polos, quarter zips and jackets when a group wants something that outlasts the semester. Screen printing near me searches usually end at bulk, and that is fair, we run it on qualifying orders from about 48 pieces where the per piece math starts beating everything else. Same artwork, three different roads, and we will tell you which one your budget actually wants.

The order sheet in Clemson looks like a campus calendar. Service clubs printing shirts for a volunteer day, honor societies doing embroidery on polos for a banquet, club sports teams that need practice tees and hoodies, a residence hall staff wanting matching tees for move in. Around those, the regular Upstate mix keeps us busy, small businesses, trades and construction crews, churches and ministries, nonprofits, schools, booster clubs, restaurants, retailers and event organizers. What they share is a committee, a budget and a date. Nobody orders custom shirts because they woke up wanting shirts. They order because something is happening, and the apparel is how a group looks like a group when it gets there.

Per person budget is the number that runs these decisions, so we quote that way. Tell us the ceiling a member can be asked to pay and we will show you which garment and which decoration method land under it, instead of sending back a quote that blows the whole thing up. Committees also need something to vote on. We can price two or three versions side by side so the group picks once and the order moves.

What Groups Actually Order

Six things make up almost every order that comes in from a campus organization. Some groups pick one, most end up mixing a couple across the year.

Chapter and Club Tees

Full color DTF prints on soft cotton and blend tees, twelve pieces and up. Good for meeting shirts, volunteer days, intramural rosters and anything where the design has gradients or more colors than a budget usually allows.

12 piece minimum Full color Soft hand feel

Hoodies and Crewnecks

Custom hoodies are the piece members actually keep, so they carry the most artwork. We print big front graphics, left chest marks and back designs on pullovers, zip ups and crewneck sweatshirts, same twelve piece minimum as tees.

Pullover or zip Front and back Fall favorite

Embroidered Hats

Stitched caps for officers, alumni gifts and anything meant to last past graduation. Dad hats, structured caps, beanies and trucker styles, digitized once and stored so next year the reorder is quick and matches exactly.

Digitized once Reorder ready 12 piece minimum

Polos, Jackets and Workwear

Embroidery on polos, quarter zips, softshell jackets and work shirts for banquets, career fairs, conference travel and job sites. Left chest logo, sleeve or back options, and the thread colors get matched before a single stitch goes down.

Bulk Screen Printing

On qualifying runs from around 48 pieces, screen printing brings the per shirt cost down hard. Best when the design is a few solid colors and the count is big, like an all campus event or a giveaway that has to stretch.

Event and Fundraiser Apparel

Philanthropy weekends, 5K tees, formal merch and dues drives. We keep the artwork simple enough to print clean and cheap enough that the group clears real money after the shirts are paid for.

The Parts That Stall a Group Order

Four things kill more student org orders than price does, and every one of them is fixable if you know about it early.

Our date is tight. Can you make it?

Sometimes. Turnaround is 5 to 7 days after the proof gets approved, and the approval is the part groups sit on. Send artwork and sizes together, approve the proof the day it lands, and most tight dates work. Call (864) 800-6445 and we will tell you straight if it does not.

We only need a dozen shirts.

That is the minimum, so you are fine. Twelve pieces gets you DTF on tees or hoodies, and twelve gets you embroidery too. Small chapters and new clubs order at exactly twelve all the time. The price per shirt is higher than a hundred piece run, but the door is open.

Nobody in our group can design.

Most groups cannot, and that is normal. Send a sketch, a screenshot, a font you like or a description of the idea. We build it into print ready art and send a proof before anything runs. Revisions happen before production, not after, which is the only time they are free.

You are not in Clemson.

Right, we are based in the Greenville Upstate and we serve Clemson and the rest of Pickens County from there. Orders ship or get delivered, so nobody has to organize a road trip to pick up boxes. Proofs, sizes and approvals all happen by phone and email anyway.

How a Group Order Runs

1

Start With the Date

Tell us when the shirts are needed and roughly how many. We work the schedule backwards from there so the group knows every deadline up front.

2

Pick the Garment

We quote a couple of options against your per person budget, tee or hoodie, print or stitch, so the committee has something clear to vote on.

3

Approve the Proof

You get a digital proof showing placement, size and colors. Nothing prints until someone with authority signs off, and the turnaround clock starts at that moment.

4

Print and Deliver

Production runs 5 to 7 days, then the order ships or gets delivered to whoever is handling handout. No pickup counter to drive to and no boxes to chase.

Questions Student Groups Ask

Twelve pieces for DTF printing on t-shirts and hoodies, and twelve for embroidery on hats, polos and jackets. Screen printing usually starts around 48. You can mix sizes freely inside a twelve piece run, and a small officer order of embroidered polos counts the same as a big tee order.

Plan on 5 to 7 days after you approve the proof. The part groups underestimate is everything before that, collecting sizes from members, settling on artwork, getting the committee to agree. If your event is three weeks out you are in good shape. If it is next week, call first.

Yes. Printed Essentials works out of the Greenville Upstate and there is no walk in storefront, so every order either ships or gets delivered. That covers Clemson, Central, Six Mile, Liberty, Pickens and the rest of the county. Tell us where the boxes should land and when, and we handle it.

We invoice the organization as one order, not twelve or forty individual sales. How the group collects from members is up to whoever holds the treasury. Most chapters set a per person price, collect first, then place the order once the money is in. Quote first so the number is real.

It depends on count and color. Under 48 pieces, or any design with photos, gradients or lots of colors, DTF wins because there are no per color screen charges. Once you get well past 48 with a simple two or three color design, screen printing gets cheaper per shirt. Send both numbers and we will compare.

Get a Number Before the Vote

Send the date, the headcount and the idea. We will come back with pricing your committee can actually decide on.
