Custom T-Shirt Printing and Embroidery for Starr, SC Farms

Start with the cap. It rides the dash of a diesel truck in July, it gets soaked through by ten in the morning, it gets wiped across a forehead and jammed back on, and by August the logo on the front is either still there or it is gone. Same story with a work shirt. Washed twice a week in hard water, caught on a gate latch, run through a season of dust, hay and hydraulic fluid. That is the standard we build to. Printed Essentials is a family owned shop in the Greenville Upstate, and custom t-shirt printing, custom hoodies and embroidery go out to Starr and the rest of Anderson County every week.

Most of what leaves here for farm accounts is DTF, which stands for direct to film. The artwork is printed and heat pressed into the garment, so a full color mark with a tractor, a family name and four lines of small text costs no more than one flat color. Gradients and photos come out clean. For anything that lives outdoors, embroidery is usually the better call. Thread stitched into a cap crown, a polo chest or the back of a jacket will not crack or wash pale the way a print eventually does. Screen printing enters the picture on bulk runs, typically from 48 pieces, once the count is high enough for the setup to pay off.

Cattle and row crop operations order the most, usually caps and shirts for the family plus whoever shows up at harvest. Feed and seed dealers, spray and lime services, equipment repair shops, hay haulers, produce stands and small poultry outfits order the same way. Around them sit the other folks we work with in and near Starr, construction and trade crews, churches and ministries, schools, ball teams and booster clubs, restaurants, retailers and nonprofits. What they share is a short order and a real deadline. Nobody wants five hundred shirts stacked in a barn. Twelve pieces gets you company shirts, custom hoodies or embroidery, and you reorder when the crew grows.

One thing farm orders always involve is a wide size spread. A single run might need a youth medium for the kid riding the combine, a women's cut, a couple of talls and a 4XL for whoever runs the loader. That is normal here. We mix sizes and garment styles inside one order and count them all toward the same minimum, so dressing everybody does not cost you two setups.

What Starr Operations Order From Us

Six things make up most of the work that heads toward Starr. Every one of them starts at twelve pieces except the screen printed bulk runs.

DTF Printed T-Shirts

Full color farm logos, brand marks and family names pressed into cotton and blend tees. Color count does not change the price, so a detailed piece of art costs the same as a one color name across the chest.

From 12 Full color Soft hand

Embroidered Caps and Beanies

Structured caps, rope hats, trucker mesh and knit beanies with stitched logos on the front panel or side. Thread holds up to sweat, sun and getting sat on, which is what most caps around here actually go through.

Front or side Sun proof From 12

Embroidered Polos, Workwear and Jackets

Left chest stitching on polos, button downs, long sleeve work shirts, canvas jackets and quarter zips. Names on the opposite chest keep a shirt with one person, and jacket art can sit on the chest, the back or both.

Left chest Names added Workwear grade

Hoodies and Sweatshirts

Pullovers and full zips printed with DTF or stitched with embroidery, depending on how the design reads. These move fast for morning feeding, fall shows and anybody working before the sun clears the treeline.

Print or stitch Pullover or zip From 12

Bulk Screen Printing

Larger runs on qualifying orders, usually starting around 48 pieces. Ink is laid directly into the fabric, which brings the per shirt cost down when a co-op, a big crew or a whole event needs the same design.

From 48 Lower per piece Bulk runs

Event and Fundraiser Apparel

Shirts and hats for farm days, tractor pulls, ag banquets, livestock shows and booster fundraisers. We keep the count honest so a group is not stuck eating the cost of boxes nobody sells.

What Usually Holds People Up

Four things come up on nearly every first call from a farm or ag business, so here are the straight answers.

We only need about a dozen

Twelve is where we start on DTF and on embroidery, and that is a real number, not a bulk teaser. Sizes and styles mix inside the same order. A family operation with six people and a few spares hits the minimum without buying inventory it will never wear out.

Will embroidery survive real work?

Stitched thread does not sit on top of the fabric the way vinyl does, so there is nothing to peel or crack. Caps, polos and jackets we embroider go through wash cycles, sweat, sun and rough handling and the logo stays put. That is why we push embroidery for anything worn outdoors daily.

Our logo is on a faded sign

Send a photo of the sign, an old cap, a business card, whatever you have. We redraw the mark clean and get it ready for print or for stitching, then show you a proof before anything runs. Plenty of farm logos we handle start as a picture taken in a field.

You are not in Starr

Correct. The shop is in the Greenville Upstate and we serve Starr and Anderson County from there. Orders ship or get delivered, and quoting and proofing happen by phone and email. Nobody has to burn a workday driving to a counter to approve artwork.

How an Order Runs

1

Tell us the job

Call or email with the garment you want, a rough count and your art. A rough idea works fine at this stage. We fill in the gaps.

2

Quote comes back

You get pricing on the pieces and the method, print or stitch, with a straight answer on which one suits how the garment will actually get used.

3

Proof and approve

We send a proof showing placement, size and colors. Nothing runs until you say it looks right. Changes at this point cost nothing.

4

Produced and delivered

Typical turnaround is 5 to 7 days after proof approval. The order ships or gets delivered, and reorders run off the same approved file.

Questions We Get From Starr

No. There is no public storefront to visit. Printed Essentials works out of the Greenville Upstate and serves Starr and the rest of Anderson County, with orders shipped or delivered once they are finished. Quotes, artwork and proof approvals all happen over phone and email, which keeps a farm order moving without anybody losing half a day to a drive.

Typical turnaround is 5 to 7 days after you approve the proof. The clock starts at approval, not at the first phone call, so getting art back to us quickly is the biggest thing that moves a date up. If you have a show, a banquet or a delivery deadline, say so up front and we will tell you honestly whether it fits.

Twelve pieces for DTF printing and twelve for embroidery. Screen printing generally starts around 48 because of the setup involved. Inside a DTF or embroidery order you can mix shirt sizes, add a few hoodies and split between men's and women's cuts, and it all counts toward the same twelve.

Yes. Embroidery on headwear, polos, jackets and workwear is a core part of what we do. Caps take a front panel or side placement, jackets take a left chest, a back or both. Send your logo and we will tell you whether it needs any cleanup to stitch well at that size.

Yes, and reorders are the easy part. Once a design is approved we keep the file, so the next run matches the first without redoing artwork or proofs. Plenty of operations around Anderson County order caps in spring and shirts again before harvest, adding new hires to the count as they go.
